  • Stephanie for New Jersey campaign launch September 7, 2019

  • Total raised in first month $100,890.00

  • 388 unique donors

  • Average donation of $260.00

Since launching her campaign in early September, Stephanie Schmid hit the ground running and has a six-figure fundraising total to show for it. The Stephanie for New Jersey campaign reported $100,890 raised in only one month from 388 unique donors. Stephanie is not accepting corporate PAC money.

While Stephanie is facing three declared opponents to be the next Democratic nominee in New Jersey’s 4th Congressional District, the other candidates combined for a total of $22,863.72 raised from outside donors in the third quarter. Despite entering the race months after the other candidates, Stephanie raised nearly five times their total in September alone from a large group of enthusiastic grassroots donors.

“It will take early, strong, and sustained fundraising to unseat 20-term incumbent Chris Smith,” Stephanie Schmid said. “I’m so grateful to all of our supporters who donated to this campaign in our first month. This high number of early donors shows the enthusiasm for my candidacy in NJ-04 and around the country. Our strength is growing: in the first two weeks of October we’ve received donations from more than 50 new supporters!”

“While Chris Smith is hanging out in Washington, DC—even as Congress is on recess and the rest of our delegation is home in New Jersey talking to their constituents—I’ve been here in-district meeting with community members and listening to their concerns. NJ-04 is ready for a change and I am the only Democratic candidate who has demonstrated the strength, grassroots support, and resources to ensure our victory in November 2020.”

Stephanie has $78,895.09 cash on hand, which will help her continue to grow her staff and build out her ground game.

Stephanie is a New Jersey native with a strong record of serving her community, protecting those most vulnerable, and solving difficult public policy problems. She’s running to bring new leadership to Congress at a time when we need our leaders to solve pressing challenges and create opportunities for the people of New Jersey.
