Fitzherbert Endorses Van Drew

South Jersey’s Harry Hurley reports that Brian Fitzherbert has announced his candidacy in Congressional District 2. Last year, Fitzherbert vied for the GOP nomination in a crowded primary, but was knocked off the ballot after rival Hirsh Singh challenged his petition signature.

Fitzherbert Endorses Van Drew

Republican Congressional candidate Brian Fitzherbert announced today that he would be ending his campaign and has endorsed incumbent Republican Congressman Jeff Van Drew for re-election.

“Seven months ago, I announced my campaign for Congress to be a citizen representative and use my background in the defense industry to bring much needed year-round jobs and economic development to South Jersey,” Fitzherbert said. “However, I have decided to suspend my campaign and follow President Trump’s lead in supporting Congressman Van Drew for re-election. I am also calling upon the other Republican candidates and those who have supported me to do the same so that our party can move forward united and build upon South Jersey’s success last November. It is essential that we unite as a party and fight together to ensure we re-elect President Trump in 2020.”

Fitzherbert continued, “I will continue to fight for my conservative values of protecting the unborn, upholding the 2nd Amendment, promoting greater fiscal responsibility and prioritizing the needs of our Veterans. And, as I always have, will continue to work to grow the next generation of leaders through the Young Republican Organization. Thank you for the opportunity to run for Congress. God Bless South Jersey.”

“I would like to thank Brian Fitzherbert for his endorsement and support,” added incumbent Republican Congressman Jeff Van Drew. “Brian has earned a reputation as a tough campaigner and I look forward to working with him in the months ahead to ensure our Republican ticket is successful from top to bottom in November.”
