Five New Jersey Congressional Democrats Endorse Sue Altman

Lambertville, NJ — Five New Jersey Democratic members of Congress announced their endorsement today of Sue Altman, the presumptive Democratic nominee for New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District.

Representatives Frank Pallone (NJ-06), Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11), Donald Payne, Jr. (NJ-10), Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12), and Bill Pascrell (NJ-09) are all throwing their support behind Altman.

Their endorsement highlights the consolidation of Democratic support from across New Jersey towards Altman, who is challenging first-time MAGA-enabling Republican Tom Kean, Jr. in a race that will likely decide the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“I’m honored to have the endorsement of such a strong group of Democratic leaders — many of whom I have worked closely with for years,” Altman said. “I’m excited to work alongside my future colleagues in our fight to take back the House from extremist Republicans in order to protect abortion access, fight corruption in both parties, lower costs for working families, and protect our natural environment.”

“I’m endorsing Sue Altman because I believe that she has the vision and dedication to serve her district and our state in Congress,” said Congressman Frank Pallone (NJ-06). “Throughout her career, Sue has been a strong advocate for working families and played an important role in helping to tackle climate change and lower prescription drug costs. I know she’ll bring that same energy to Washington.”

“Sue Altman is a proven fighter and will bring New Jersey values to Washington,” Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) said. “She is the strong voice New Jersey needs to protect abortion access and fight for middle class tax relief by increasing Trump’s SALT deduction cap that has devastated Garden State families. New Jersey needs Sue Altman in Congress.”

“Sue Altman is someone I’ve worked with for several years – she is a fierce, principled advocate who will always put New Jerseyans first in Washington,” said Congressman Donald Payne, Jr. (NJ-10). “Sue will work to hold polluters accountable and expand access to healthcare for working families and seniors across our state.”

“For years, I’ve worked closely with Sue Altman to advocate for New Jersey’s working families across the state,” Congresswoman Watson Coleman (NJ-12) said. “I’m proud to stand with Sue, a leader who has a record fighting for fair wages, as we work to flip the House. I know she shares my commitment  as a voice for equity of women, children, and other underserved members of our community.”

“Sue Altman is a champion for organized labor, the rights of women, and working families,” said Congressman Bill Pascrell (NJ-09). “And the path to the next Democratic majority depends on sending Sue Altman to Washington. It’s that simple. I support Sue and look forward to fighting next to her.”
