Food & Water Action Endorses Jim Keady for Congress
Food & Water Action, the political arm of the national advocacy organization Food & Water Watch, is endorsing longtime progressive champion Jim Keady in the Democratic primary for New Jersey’s Fourth Congressional District.
Keady earned the group’s endorsement based on his unwavering commitment to a rapid transition to 100% renewable energy, and his opposition to fracking and fossil fuel infrastructure projects.
“The Trump era demands that we send progressive champions to Washington to fight for clean air, clean water, and a livable planet, saidJunior Romero, Central Jersey Organizer at Food & Water Action. “Jim Keady has fought for social justice here in New Jersey and around the world. He stood up to Chris Christie to demand accountability and action for families frustrated over the state’s failures after Superstorm Sandy. He’s a fighter, and that’s what New Jersey–and the rest of the country– needs right now.”
From exposing abusive conditions in sweatshops around the world to serving on the Asbury Park City Council, Jim Keady has dedicated his time and energy to social justice. He is running for Congress to continue that work. Keady will support a rapid transition to 100% percent renewable energy by co-sponsoring the OFF Fossil Fuels Act when elected to Congress. He has pledged to strengthen our public drinking water infrastructure, and he will fight for policies that will protect our food and keep our water clean and affordable.
The winner of the June 5 primary will face incumbent Republican Congressman Chris Smith.
