Foreign Policy for America Endorses Stephanie Schmid (NJ-04) for Election

WASHINGTON D.C. – Foreign Policy for America announced today its endorsement of Stephanie Schmid for election. As an attorney, former diplomat, and human rights advocate, Schmid is running to represent the people of New Jersey’s 4th district in the U.S. House of Representatives.

A native of New Jersey, Schmid worked as a federal litigation attorney and in private practice before joining the U.S. Foreign Service in 2011. She served in Washington, D.C., and in embassies around the world for seven years, working to uphold democratic institutions, assist U.S. citizens abroad, and protect international human rights. Following her service at the State Department, she led the U.S. Foreign Policy Program at the Center for Reproductive Rights, where she was a strong and principled advocate for reproductive and LGBTQ rights and fought against the Trump Administration’s harmful global gag rule.
