Former Linden Independent and Democrat Elected Officials Back Hugin

Three Former City of Linden Officials Add to Growing List of Endorsements

MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ — Bob Hugin’s campaign for U.S. Senate continued to win broad political support today, adding the endorsements of three independent Democrats — former City of Linden Mayor Richard Gerbounka, and former City of Linden council members Joe Harvanik and Bob Frazier.

“This election is about choosing the right person to represent New Jersey in Washington, not about Democrats or Republicans. We must have a U.S. Senator like Bob Hugin, someone who is focused on representing everyone in this state, someone who will cross party lines to get things done and not get stuck in the type of partisan bickering that has divided this nation,” said Gerbounka.

The former mayor, a lifelong Democrat, dropped party labels when he ran for mayor and was elected to lead the City of Linden for eight years between 2007 and 2014. Joining Gerbounka today in endorsing businessman and former Marine, Bob Hugin, were Bob Frazier and Joe Harvanik, two former Linden council members.

“Bob brings a perspective that has been lacking for years — a Marine veteran and someone who has built a business, creating thousands of jobs while fighting the economic challenges of ever-increasing taxes approved by politicians who are disconnected with everyday, working people,” said Harvanik.

“We need Bob Hugin because he will provide a fresh, independent voice that is lacking in Washington. The days of partisan politics are over. People want to be confident that the people in Washington care about the people back home in New Jersey,” said Frazier.

Bob Hugin has been running an inclusive campaign for U.S. Senate, touring the entire state and sharing ideas on issues impacting all communities. He has received endorsements from several prominent Democrats as well as independent leaders, putting his campaign against incumbent Bob Menendez in a dead heat, according to recent polls.

“The endorsement from independent leaders in Linden is not only welcome and encouraging, from a personal standpoint, but it also indicates that more people are realizing my campaign is inclusive and my goal is to reach out to everyone in the state. I plan to represent all of New Jersey when I am elected and not be swayed by any special interests or political affiliations,” said Hugin

Bob Hugin, a Marine Corps Veteran and business leader who has created thousands of New Jersey jobs, is running for U.S. Senate against incumbent Senator Bob Menendez. For more information visit bobhugin.com.
