Former President of the Sheriff’s Association of New Jersey Endorses David Richter for Congress; Calls Kate Gibbs ‘Unfit’ for Congress
Toms River, NJ – March 2, 2020 – Frank Provenzano, the former President of the Sheriff’s Association of New Jersey, announced today that he has endorsed David Richter for Congress in New Jersey’s Third Congressional District.
“David is an outstanding candidate for Congress and he has my full support,” said Provenzano. “Kate Gibbs, on the other hand, as a convicted shoplifter is unfit to serve the citizens of the Third District in Congress or in any other elected capacity. She should not be allowed to enact the laws of our country if she is not willing to comply with them,” Provenzano added.
Provenzano, currently an Ocean County resident, served as President of the Sheriff’s Association of New Jersey from 2007 to 2010. He joined the Bridgewater Township Police Department in 1968 and retired in 2001 as Captain of the Administration Division. He then served from 2002 to 2020 as the elected Sheriff of Somerset County.
“I am very appreciative of Frank’s endorsement, which is in recognition of my full support for our men and women in blue who put their lives at risk every day to keep the rest of us safe. I look forward to representing and defending our law enforcement community as a member of Congress,” said Richter.
Richter is the former CEO of global construction management firm Hill International. During his time at the company, Hill grew from a struggling family business with less than 300 employees into a successful public company with more than 4,300 employees. A lifelong Republican, Richter grew up in and has spent most of his life living and working in the Third District. He earned two bachelor’s degrees and a law degree from Penn as well as master’s degrees from Oxford and Harvard. Richter and his wife Michelle, who have been married for 20 years, are the parents of four daughters.
