Former top Booker advisor comes onboard as the new Chief of Staff to NJ Assemblywoman Shanique Speight- LD29

Newark, NJ- – Former Deputy Chief of Staff to Newark Mayor Cory Booker, Jermaine James has officially taken on his new role as Chief of Staff to Assemblywoman Shanique Speight. With over 17 years of experience in public service, James is no stranger to politics. He served as Deputy Chief of Staff to then-Councilman Cory Booker (2000-2002) and Deputy Chief of Staff to then-Mayor Cory Booker (2006-2008). Cory Booker now serves in the United States Senate representing the State of New Jersey. In addition, James also served as Senior Advisor to the Newark Housing Authority Executive Director from June 2011 to June 2014.

Jermaine James was also the Campaign Director for the City of Newark for the Barack Obama Primary Campaign, Director of Real Estate Development for Newark Downtown Core Redevelopment Corporation, and a Commissioner on the Newark Central Planning Board.

 

*Assemblywoman Shanique Speight represents the 29th Legislative District which comprises of parts of Newark and the Township of Belleville. Assemblywoman Speight is serving her first term in the New Jersey General Assembly after being sworn in on January 9, 2018.
