The campaign staffers of former NJ-2 candidate Will Cunningham launch a new progressive PAC to give a voice to transformative candidates across the nation. The PAC has already worked with a full slate of candidates in NJ, NY, TN, MD, VA, PA, and will continue to impact races through November.

VINELAND, NJ – Make Room is a new progressive PAC founded by former staffers of Will Cunningham, a recent candidate for Congress in NJ-02. Will’s candidacy created a movement for progressivism in South Jersey that his campaign staff have seized upon as an impetus to create a national political action committee.

After New Jersey’s primary on July 7th, Will’s team sought to carry on his message of true progressive reform through a new PAC that seeks to support the campaigns of down-ballot progressives and give them a platform to tell their stories. Make Room is fighting to boost the candidacies of truly transformational progressives regardless of their connections in order to promote justice and equity in our politics.

“There’s a new generation of leaders that are rising and have caught momentum. It’s time for the establishment to make room. Not just the Democratic establishment, but the Progressive establishment as well” says Cunningham in a new launch video for Make Room.

The PAC officially launched to the public on August 17th but has already worked with Mia Mason in MD-1, Keeda Haynes in TN-5, Robin Wilt in NY-25, Jerry Dickinson in PA-18, Melanie D’Arrigo in NY-3, Hector Oseguera in NJ-8, Russ Cirincione in NJ-6, and Zainab Mohsini in VA-11, among other progressive candidates across the country. Currently, Make Room has endorsed and is working with Jen Perelman in FL-23, Cindy Banyai in FL-19, Adam Christensen in FL-3, and Richard Thripp in FL-6 in anticipation of the August 18th Florida primary and will continue to add candidates to its roster throughout this primary season and beyond.
