JERSEY CITY, N.J. — The Fulop for Governor campaign is announcing four more Assembly candidates who will run alongside Democratic gubernatorial candidate Steven Fulop in this year’s Primary Election. Eric Holliday will run for State Assembly in the 7th District, Freshta Taeb will run for State Assembly in the 12th Legislative District, Damali Robinson will run for State Assembly in the 38th Legislative District, and Donald Campbell will run for State Assembly in the 9th Legislative District. With this announcement, Team Fulop has now recruited more than 30 Democratic candidates running in districts throughout the state.
“As we’ve said from the start, this campaign will continue to put people first, not politics,” said Mayor Steven Fulop. “Eric, Freshta, Damali and Don continually stand up for their communities and embody the compassionate, results-driven leadership NJ desperately needs. Together, we’re proving that prioritizing people over party bosses isn’t just the right thing to do — it’s how we create a stronger, fairer, and more prosperous future for everyone in New Jersey.”
Eric Holliday (LD-7) is the first LGBTQ+ Committeeman and Mayor in Bordentown Township. He is also a retired Sergeant from the New Jersey Department of Corrections, where he dedicated 25 years of service in roles such as Hostage Negotiator and Emergency Management Coordinator. Holliday received extensive management and professional training through the NJDOC and Texas A&M University’s Engineering Extension Services. A resident of Bordentown Township for over 24 years, he has served on the Township Committee since 2015, including a term as Deputy Mayor.
He is proud of his contributions, which include stabilizing taxes, enhancing the township’s emergency management capabilities, undertaking major infrastructure projects, and protecting open space. During his campaign, residents asked if he could bring his policy experience to the state legislature. Holliday is committed to maintaining accessible and transparent government and will fight in the legislature for affordable healthcare, fair pensions, and policies that address affordability in New Jersey.
Freshta Taeb (LD-12) is a business owner and mental health professional residing in Old Bridge. She has built a diverse and impactful career spanning multiple fields, including media, education, behavioral health, and advocacy for the most vulnerable. Taeb also provides trauma-informed care for the veteran community and serves as the Chairwoman of the Candidate and Membership Committee for the NJ Democratic Muslim Caucus.
Damali Robinson, DNP (LD-38) is a certified registered nurse anesthesiologist (CRNA) and a military veteran who served as an active-duty U.S. Army officer for nearly a decade. She currently practices at Hackensack University Medical Center and other healthcare facilities in the region. Robinson has served on the Glen Rock Board of Education for five years and is now in her second elected term. As President of the Board, she is a dedicated advocate for educational improvements in her local community.
Donald Campbell (LD-9), who lives with cerebral palsy, is the Executive Director at the Atlantic Center for Independent Living Inc., a community-based non-profit that supports people with disabilities in obtaining the skills and resources they need to live independently. Given his personal and professional experience, Campbell knows firsthand the challenges of everyday people living in this state. This empathy and understanding continually gives him the necessary skills to help bring even more assistance for those living with disabilities in NJ.
