FRANCO & MORAN FOR LEH TWP. COMMITTEE: SEVEN BRIDGES VOLUNTEER CLEANUP DAY A SUCCESS

(Little Egg Harbor Twp.) – On the morning of Sunday, October 4, Gabriel Brian Franco & Shaun Moran, candidates for Little Egg Harbor Township Committee, led a team of volunteers and cleaned up the litter and bulk trash items at the end of Great Bay Boulevard, often referred to as Seven Bridges, a local hotspot for fishing, birdwatching, and photography.

The team of about 25 volunteers, sporting blue t-shirts that read “We Love Our Great Bay,” filled a dozen heavy duty bags with litter and pulled an assortment of bulk garbage from the bushes and beach, which included wood pallets, a barbecue grill, computer parts, rope, fishing poles, and a boat cushion.

“Issues like this are part of why we decided to run for Little Egg Harbor Township Committee in the first place,” said Moran. “Our township deserves leaders who care about our endangered wildlife and our priceless environmental sites, leaders like Gabe and myself, who would rather go out there and clean up the mess ourselves than see the area in such a state of neglect.”

“We were pleased to see so many people come out to join us in our efforts to make our community a better place,” said Franco, “and we were overwhelmed by the support we received on social media for our event. About a hundred people responded as either going or interested in the event. We hope to have their support as we move forward with other community service endeavors in the coming weeks and months.”
