Fredon Mayor John Flora Says He Will Run in 7th District Seat Held by Democrat Malinowski

                                                                                     Decembe22, 2021

John P. Flora, the mayor of Fredon Township, Sussex County, has announced he is running for Congress in redrawn 7th Congressional District instead of CD 5 as he originally announced on December 9.

Flora, a Republican, will seek the party’s nomination next June to face off against incumbent Democrat Tom Malinowski.

“The new 7th District is much more suited to me geographically and philosophically,” said Flora. “But overall, my reason for running for Congress has not changed.  Whether it is Rep. Malinowski or Rep Josh Gottheimer, doesn’t matter. They both represent the same problems posed by the progressive socialists that are running the Democratic Party.”

“I am running because middle class people like me and my neighbors are not being represented in Congress. Our values are not respected and slowly, but surely, the great nation that is America is slipping away from us,” said Flora, the owner of beverage company.

Flora has spent three years on the Fredon Township Committee – and was re-elected to another term in November. He has been a member of the Fredon School Board for 10 years – nine years as president.

He said he is running on bedrock issues that are the core of America’s working people. Among them are;

  • Stopping the progressive indoctrination of children in public schools
  • Fighting for safe streets and neighborhoods and swift prosecuting criminals
  • Opposing massive federal spending as in the Democrats Build Back Better plan
  • Securing our borders and stopping massive illegal immigration.
  • Supporting business growth
  •

“The Republican Party needs to send strong leaders and strong personalities to Congress,” said Flora. “Our nation is in a battle for its future and we cannot send compromisers and professional politicians to Congress.”
