Freeholder Anthony Romano Secures Over 1.4 Million Dollars in Funding for Hoboken COVID-19 Relief
Relief funds will go towards first responders, feeding the needy, senior services and preventive health related measures in the city
HOBOKEN, NJ — The Hudson County Freeholder Board has approved the reimbursement of Hoboken taxpayers of over 1.4 million dollars to cover COVID-19 related expenses. Freeholder Anthony Romano played an integral role in securing the funds for Hoboken which will go towards paying salaries for first responders, feeding residents in need, senior services and preventative health related measures in the city.
“I would like to thank the federal government, County Executive Tom DeGise and my colleagues on the Freeholder Board for helping us to deliver critical funds to our residents,” said Freeholder Anthony Romano. “I will continue to do everything in my power to deliver relief to our residents and small businesses during this crisis. Currently, I am seeking an additional two million dollars to help our small businesses that are hurting greatly right now.”
Additionally, Freeholder Romano has continued to work diligently to secure relief funds for Jersey City. Hudson County received funding from the federal government through the CARES Act which will be distributed to all municipalities in the county.
