Freeholder Board’s Aug. 12 Virtual Meetings — Report on Vocational School District Reopening Plan

Public Comments Allowed at  7 p.m. Session

Due to the COVID-19 crisis and the need for social distancing and avoiding group gatherings, the Morris County Board of Freeholders will meet virtually on Wednesday evening, Aug. 12. Residents are invited to attend the meeting via a virtual link or audio-only connection.

The Freeholder Board also will hold a work session at 4:30 p.m., followed by the 7 p.m. regular public meeting. Public comment is only allowed at the 7 p.m. public session.

The 4:30 p.m. work session will feature a report from Morris County Vocational School District Superintendent Scott Moffitt. He will brief the county government board  on plans for the fall semester at the Morris Clounty School of  Technology and the county school district’s numerous academies.

“Please join our county government meetings on Wednesday online, as we continue to follow public health guidelines during the COVID-19 crisis and limit public gatherings,” said Freeholder Director Deborah Smith. “These online meetings allow us to maintain key government functions in a safe but effective manner.”

Residents are invited to watch and/or listen at 4:30 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. At the later meeting, there will be a public comment period that will be announced by the Freeholder Director Deborah Smith.

Agendas for each meeting will be published on Monday, Aug. 10. They may be updated each day until the times of the meetings. You can find the agendas on the county website.

There is no public comment period during this meeting, but the public is invited to attend.
