Freeholder Tanelli Mourns the Passing of North Arlington Mayor Joseph Bianchi

I would like to offer my condolences to the family of Mayor Joe Bianchi of North Arlington, who passed away today.

I served with Joe on the Borough Council and I followed his career as mayor as a Borough resident. I always found Joe to be a gentleman, who argued his point strongly, but fairly. He was passionate yet open to discussion and compromise on any issue. Joe’s top priority was doing what was best for North Arlington, not his party or any special interest.

Joe was especially fond of helping children and was at the forefront of making sure that borough resources went to recreation programs that would benefit the young people of the community. He was approachable and greeted everyone with a smile whether it was at his barber shop on Ridge Road or at Borough Hall.

Joe was a rare breed in politics today. He didn’t concern himself with climbing the ladder to the next political position; he was happy doing what he could do for North Arlington. He will be missed.

Rest in Peace Joe.

Sincerely

The Tanelli Family
