FRIDAY: AFSCME NJ goes live with Senator Cory Booker

For months, COVID-19 has been ravaging the country and putting everyone, especially essential employees in harm’s way. This week, we will be joined by United States Senator Cory Booker where we’ll be discussing:

1.    The impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the people of New

Jersey, particularly in communities of color.

2.    The impact of the health crisis and looming fiscal crisis on public

services in New Jersey and across the country.

3.    The federal legislation that has been passed already to deal with the

crisis and why it important for the Senate to pass additional legislation as the crisis evolves.

4.    George Floyd protests and the issues of police brutality, systemic racism and how we take the energy from the protests in the streets to bringing about real change.

AFSCME New Jersey has been hosting their series of Facebook Live conversations with leaders across New Jersey since the onset of the coronavirus.
