Frizell, Siciliano, & Kitchen Announce Keansburg Board of Education Re-election Campaign
Keansburg, NJ – Today, Board of Education members Patricia Frizell, Gregory Siciliano, and Matthew Kitchen proudly announced their re-election campaign, committing to continue their dedication to providing high-quality education for all students in the district. Running under the moniker of “Trusted, Reliable Experience,” the candidates bring years of service and a shared commitment to student achievement, equity, and community collaboration.
“Together, we’ve worked tirelessly to support academic excellence and student well-being, especially in these challenging times,” said Patricia Frizell. “Our focus has always been on ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background.”
About the Candidates:
• Patricia Frizell – With more than 12 years of experience on the Board, Patty has played a key role in increasing the focus on fiscal responsibility as a longstanding member of the finance committee, and fought for fair, equitable pay for our educators on the negotiations committee. After putting her two children through the Keansburg School District, Patty has become a go-to person for parents and community members alike when help is needed. Patty has also served the community for over 27 years with the United States Postal Service.
• Gregory Siciliano – A lifelong resident of Keansburg and graduate of Keansburg High School’s class of 2013, Greg has been a long-time advocate for equity and inclusion, promoting diverse learning environments, and championing opportunities for all students to thrive. Greg has also served the board on several committees and has served as Vice President since January 2023. Professionally, Greg brings over 10 years of leadership experience from his work in financial and operational management.
• Matthew Kitchen – As a lifelong resident of Keansburg and a graduate of Keansburg High School, Matt has worked tirelessly to improve the community he loves. He brings the years of hard work, perseverance, and tenacity needed in the fight for fair funding since the implementation of the S2 budget cuts. Matt has served the board on several key committees in addition to having led the board as President since January 2023. Matt and his wife, DiAnne, live in town with their children attending the Keansburg School District.
Throughout their tenure, all three candidates have worked closely with educators, parents, and the broader community to build a district that prioritizes both academic success and the well-being of every student.
“We are proud of the progress we’ve made but recognize there’s still much more to do,” added Gregory Siciliano. “We’re ready to keep listening, learning, and leading so that our schools remain strong, safe, and inclusive.”
Commitment to the Future:
The candidates’ platform for re-election centers on:
• Enhancing Academic Programs: Expanding access to advanced coursework and innovative learning opportunities, clubs, activities, and more.
• Fostering Equity: Continuing to address disparities in education outcomes by supporting underserved students.
• Community Engagement: Strengthening communication and partnerships with families, teachers, and local stakeholders through implementation of the strategic plan.
• Fighting for Fair Funding: Ensuring the districts budget supports the students needs while remaining financially responsible, and exploring all avenues to increase funding through grants to ease the burden on taxpayers.
“Our goal is simple: to give every child the opportunity to reach their full potential,” said Matthew Kitchen. “With your support, we can continue to build a district that reflects the values of our entire community.”
The election will take place on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, and the candidates encourage all community members to get involved, stay informed, and vote.
