Fulop Announces Next #FixNJ Plan on Solving New Jersey’s Housing Crisis

Candidate Pledges to Double Affordable Housing Production, Reclaim Affordable Housing Policy From the Courts, Reform Tax Credits and Incentive Programs and More

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop has released the second part of his ambitious #FixNJ agenda, with a detailed plan to solve New Jersey’s housing crisis and make the state more affordable for working families and all residents. Reformed housing policy will be the first major policy initiative pledged by a Fulop Administration in its first 100 days.

The plan follows the Fulop campaign’s announcement of its Transportation and Infrastructure plan last month, and it continues the candidate’s commitment to running the most policy focused campaign in state history.

“No other issue affects people more right now in New Jersey than housing affordability,” said Mayor Fulop. “As Governor I will make solving New Jersey’s housing crisis my top priority by doubling the current rate of affordable housing production, modernizing the state’s affordable housing system, reforming the tax credit programs and much more.”

Mayor Fulop announced his Housing Plan today at a press event along with South Orange Mayor Sheena Collum and Assemblywoman Sadaf Jaffer, two key members of the campaign’s policy team who have extensive experience in housing policy.

“Every New Jersey family deserves to be able to live securely knowing that their most basic needs like housing are within reach, and I believe that it is our state government’s moral responsibility to make that happen,” said Mayor Fulop.
