Gilman, Parlamas and Clayton: With the new school year, the sky is the limit

Ocean Township, Monmouth County There are few times of the year that are as exciting as the start of a new school year. Students see friends they haven’t seen in months. There is renewed optimism for what can be achieved during the school year. Like last year, this year may be different from what it was before the COVID pandemic, but the Experience Matters team of Irene Gilman, Denise Parlamas, and Steve Clayton know how talented and innovative the Ocean’s students and faculty are and wish them the very best in the new school year.

Our ticket has deep roots in Ocean. In addition to all having served on the School Board, one of us worked in the district for almost forty years, while the other two are graduates of Ocean. One’s Spartan Legacy is a core principle that one should shoot for. We are looking forward to seeing what each student’s individual Spartan Legacy will be, whether that be a combination of academic excellence, extracurricular activities, or service to the community.

As the school year starts, we would like to share a quote from Andrew Carnegie, “Think of yourself as on a threshold of unparalleled success. A whole, clear, glorious life lies before you. Achieve! Achieve!” We can’t wait to see all the Ocean students and faculty achieve this year and in the future. Let your Spartan Legacy be bright. We are grateful to be able to see so many of your Spartan Legacies up close.
