Gloucester County NAACP Hosted Biannual Installation of Officers

 

Saturday, January 12, 2019, Members of the Gloucester County NAACP installed new incoming officers and executive board members.

 

Officers installed: Loretta Winters President; Rev. Dr. Charles Boyer, 1st Vice President; Yolanda Balicki Garcia Esq. 2nd Vice President; Dr. Melvin Pierson, 3rd Vice President; Tiffany Grandison, Secretary; LaTanya Nelson, Treasurer; Darlema Bey, Assistant Secretary and Aquasia Davis, Assistant Treasurer.

 

The Executive Board Members to be sworn-in are: Ralph Ross, Michael Cesaro, Frances Harwell, Rachel Green, Melissa Fox, Willis Gray, Kim Webster and Digna Townsend.

 

The NAACP invites anyone to join who supports its mission to “ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination” .

“The Gloucester County NAACP will continue, and as stated before, to challenge the constitutionality of segregation in education, employment, and public accommodations, but will strive to work diplomatically with policy makers to meet these challenges as partners, not adversaries,” Winters said.

Loretta Winters, President of the branch, delivered her 2018 State of the Gloucester NAACP speech and set forth the work of the new leadership team. Winters said, ‘“This was a largely anticipated event for all who support the mission of the oldest civil rights organization in the nation. She further added, “We have a phenomenal team and we are looking forward to doing great things in the community by building bridges across sections and tearing down the walls that divide us.”
