Freehold – Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden, County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon, and County Commissioners Thomas A. Arnone and Dominick “Nick” DiRocco together launched their bids for re-election at the Monmouth County Republican Nominating Convention on Thursday, February 20 at iPlay America in Freehold. Despite frigid temperatures, high-winds and a wintry mix of snow and sleet, hundreds of dedicated Republican County Committee members came out to the Monmouth County Republican Nominating Convention to cast their votes for the party’s nominations for State and County elected offices for 2025.

Convention delegates voted unanimously to support Sheriff Golden, Clerk Hanlon, and Commissioners Arnone and DiRocco for reelection to County offices demonstrating, once again, that the Monmouth County GOP is one of the strongest and most unified Republican organizations in the State.

“Under Republican leadership for the past decade, Monmouth County has earned a distinction as one of the most desirable and safest places to live, work and visit, and we have been honored to play a part in the County’s success,” said Sheriff Shaun Golden.

As the County’s top law enforcement official, Sheriff Golden has overseen unprecedented recognition for the County Sheriff’s Office in all key areas of operations. Under his leadership, the Sheriff’s Office has achieved national accreditation and has earned a reputation for excellence in all areas of law enforcement and public safety.

One of the county’s key achievements in 2024 was the successful launch of the Sheriff’s Office’s EMS program, which responded to more than 9000 calls across multiple towns, significantly reducing average response times. The widely-acclaimed program is expected to continue to expand into areas of need within the County, ensuring proper emergency medical services for all County residents.

“The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office has continued to be a leader throughout the State in cutting-edge law enforcement tactics and technologies to ensure that our law enforcement officials are equipped and trained to provide the highest quality public safety services to protect the health, safety and welfare of all of our citizens, and I look forward to continuing in my role as Sheriff over the next three years,” Sheriff Golden said.

Known for her successful efforts to modernize and enhance County services, Hanlon has innovated numerous outreach programs since her election as Monmouth County Clerk in 2015. Among them include the launch of the “Monmouth County Votes” website and free mobile app, the Mobile County Connection program, the “Honoring our Heroes” Veterans Discount program and her “Your Vote Matters” initiative for high school and college students.

“As Clerk, I have worked hard to expand and enhance the services of the County Clerk’s Office so that our constituents have the best quality of life here in Monmouth County,” said Hanlon, who during her 2020 re-election earned the distinction of receiving the highest number of votes in Monmouth County history.

“I look forward to continuing these efforts and implementing even more improvements for our residents if given the opportunity to continue my service as your County Clerk.”

Leading the way in developing programs to enhance the economy of Monmouth County, Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone was first elected to the Board in 2011 and has served as Director since 2018.

“We have established a great foundation for economic growth by supporting our small businesses through programs like ‘Made in Monmouth,’ ‘Grown in Monmouth,’ and ‘Brewed & Distilled in Monmouth.’ At the same time, we have led the way with shared services so that our municipalities can keep their tax rates as low as possible while taking advantage of the top notch services the County offers,” said Arnone, a former Mayor of Neptune City who has been a steadfast champion of continued enhancement of the quality of life across Monmouth County.

“Our record shows that Nick DiRocco and I, along with our fellow County Commissioners, have worked hard to build upon Monmouth County’s well- earned reputation as the most desirable County in NJ.”

Commissioner DiRocco, a former Wall Mayor and Township Committee member, has served as County Commissioner since 2020 and oversees the County’s financial management and budgetary practices.

“Monmouth is a leader in the state in many ways, most notably in the area of proper fiscal management. We are the only county in New Jersey to have earned and maintained a AAA bond rating from all three major Wall Street rating agencies, and we have kept the tax rate stable for our residents while enhancing services and expanding our open space to over 18,000 acres,” DiRocco said.

“I look forward to working with Sheriff Golden, County Clerk Hanlon and Commissioner Arnone in the coming years to continue the great progress we have made.”

The Primary Election in New Jersey will take place on June 10, 2025, with Early Voting scheduled from June 6 to June 8.
