Gottheimer Commemorates Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day

WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Josh Gottheimer, a member of the Congressional Armenian Caucus, commemorated Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day to honor the victims of the Armenian Genocide of 1915.

“I am proud to stand with colleagues on both sides of the aisle and New Jersey’s Armenian community to commemorate the 103rd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “I am proud to join more than 100 members of Congress to call on this Administration to commemorate Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day. We owe it to the victims, survivors, and future generations to bear witness and tell the truth about genocide.”

Rep. Gottheimer is a proud cosponsor of H.Res. 220, the bipartisan Armenian Genocide resolution. Last year, Rep. Gottheimer offered remarks at a commemoration of the Armenian Genocide at Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church in Ridgefield, New Jersey, and this year joined the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) and members of the Congressional Armenian Caucus at the U.S. Capitol.
