Gottheimer Delivers Food to North Jersey Seniors with Meals on Wheels

WESTWOOD, N.J. — Today, Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) delivered Meals on Wheels to North Jersey seniors with the Community Meals program in Westwood, stopping by the CareOne Management facility in Westwood and Fifth District homes in Hillsdale and Woodcliff Lake.

Meals on Wheels leverages public and private funds to support 2.4 million seniors across the United States with nutritious meals and wellness checks. The program reduces hospitalizations and helps seniors stay in their homes, saving the government billions of dollars each year in health care expenses.

“In New Jersey alone, 400,000 seniors live isolated, alone, and in or near poverty,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “Meals on Wheels’ public-private partnership supports our community by not only serving members of the greatest generation, but also by saving North Jersey taxpayers money through reducing health care costs and helping keep seniors in their homes.”
