Gottheimer Hosts 46th “Cup of Joe with Josh” Town Hall, Answers Questions and Discusses Issues with Fifth District Constituents in Hackettstown
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ – On Tuesday, January 21, 2020, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) held his 46th “Cup of Joe with Josh” Town Hall at the River Star Diner in Hackettstown. Dozens of Fifth District residents joined the discussion with Gottheimer about everything from reinstating the State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction to provide actual tax relief for our hardworking families, working with North Jersey utility companies to improve responsiveness to winter storms and subsequent power outages, to lowering out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs, efforts to improve school safety, and his work leading the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus.
“I’d like to sincerely thank the River Star Diner for welcoming us today and I’m grateful for all the Fifth District residents who came to share their thoughts and ask questions about the issues on their minds,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “Hearing from the folks I represent all around North Jersey is an essential part of my ability to best represent their interests back in Congress. I’m always appreciative of the opportunity to answer questions and engage with North Jersey residents to discuss what’s concerning them most.”
Gottheimer continued, “I will continue to fight for common-sense solutions on the issues we discussed, including keeping our air and water clean, keeping residents safe during storms and power outages, cutting taxes, keeping our children safe, investing in our crumbling infrastructure, lowering our health care costs, and standing up for our first responders and our military veterans. I’m going to take the concerns I heard this week to inform my work in Washington fighting for the Fifth District.”
