Key to Driving Dark, Undisclosed Money Out of Politics

“Today, the House passed H.R. 1 to strengthen our democracy and help root out corruption and dark, undisclosed money in our politics, regardless of party,” Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) said, “Our democracy is founded on the central premise that every American has a voice in determining our leaders, without influence from foreign governments. The bill includes a bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus amendment to help get foreign money out of our elections. It was added under the new “Break the Gridlock” rules reforms that the Problem Solvers helped drive earlier this year. I’m proud to take bipartisan steps to further strengthen this bill and increase the transparency of our electoral process.”
