IN the Wake of Global Ransomware Attack, Gottheimer Talks Cybersecurity, Visits New York Stock Exchange Data Center in Mahwah
Mahwah, N.J. – Today, as the world continues to reel from the massive ransomware cyberattack that hit companies around the globe, Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) visited the New York Stock Exchange Data Center in Mahwah and discussed cybersecurity with their data experts.
“As these recent attacks make clear, we must be vigilant in the face of cyberthreats and work to minimize our digital vulnerabilities—in both the public and private sectors,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer. “At the Stock Exchange today, we discussed their data protection and cybersecurity efforts. In Congress, I will continue to push for beefing up our nation’s cybersecurity practices and making sure that individual computer users and businesses of all sizes have the resources and knowledge to keep our country safe.”
Gottheimer, a former Microsoft executive and official at the FCC tasked with broadband security and public safety issues, now serves as a Co-Chair of the Cybersecurity Task Force of the New Democrat Coalition.
