Gov. Christie: Camden Is Once Again Becoming A Leader In The Region And This State

Governor Christie: Camden of course, is a city with a storied manufacturing history and Holtec now becomes the newest chapter in the manufacturing history of the city of Camden. In the end, the reason this has happened is because people of good will put the interests of others ahead of their own personal interests in order to make things happen for a city and a region that is now paying us back. These investments we make are investments, not gifts, they’re investments and they are now paying back the City and the region with growth and employment that is literally second to none, of any region in the country over the last year. That will help to make Camden’s schools better. That will help to develop even more affordable housing in Camden. That will grow Camden neighborhoods. And all of that will lead to, once again, this being a place where people want to raise their families. It’s happening, it’s happening right before our eyes. Don’t blink, you may miss it. And suspend our famous New Jersey cynicism just for a minute and understand that what you thought might never happen is actually happening. And this city is becoming, once again, a leader in the region and a leader for this state.
