Governor Christie: This is part of the reason why you want to raise your family here. It’s places like this where you can bring your children for them to grow up in a surrounding that is as beautiful as this with the opportunities to compete and to share a special time with their family. That’s all a wonderful part of what it means to live in Morris County. I didn’t know, quite frankly, I’m glad that Doug gave me that intro, I didn’t know that I was only the Fourth Governor form Morris County and that they’re hadn’t been one since the 1800s, and I don’t know if there’ll be another one again for quite some time—we’ll have to see. That’s going to be up to the people that live here and how much you want to step forward but it is an extraordinary honor for us and for our family. The last thing I will say to all of you is to let you know that this honor that’s given to me today is something that really is a shared honor with Mary Pat. Many of you, in this audience today, have gotten to know her over the years that I’ve been serving in public office and have always seen her as someone who is a real partner of mine in every way that she could be. And so for all the different things that will happen in these last 57 days and the things that will happen thereafter, the things that I’ve been able to accomplish in my public life would not have been possible without the fact that for thirty-one years, we’ve had a partnership that I’ve really treasured and one that has made me a better person in addition to being a better public servant. So, to my wife, I want to thank her for being here today and for everything that she’s done not only for me as a wife and a supporter, but even more importantly, to give me the freedom I’ve needed to do all this by being an extraordinary mother as well to our four children and being the person who was always there when I necessarily couldn’t be there. So all of you that were in this business understand this, or any business quite frankly, if you don’t have an effective partner you can’t get these things done. And so Governor Chris Christie Drive is just as much Governor Chris Christie and Mary Pat Christie Drive as it is mine. And so to my wife, thank you Mary Pat for everything you have done.
