Governor-elect Phil Murphy and Future First Lady Tammy Murphy Announce Inaugural Schedule

Events will highlight Governor-elect Murphy’s vision for a stronger, fairer New Jersey

 

Trenton – Governor-elect Phil Murphy and future First Lady and Inaugural Committee Chair Tammy Murphy today announced the schedule of events preceding the inauguration, to be held January 12-16.

“This inauguration is going to be more than just a transfer of power – it is going to be a celebration of all that’s right about our state and of our uniting to build a stronger and fairer New Jersey for everyone who calls it home,” said Governor-elect Murphy.

“We want all New Jerseyans to have an opportunity to be part of this exciting renewal of our state,” future First Lady Tammy Murphy said. “From family-oriented events to community service, rallies to interfaith celebrations, we are going to turn the page together and begin writing a new chapter in New Jersey’s history.”

Friday 1/12:

–          Interfaith Prayer Service and community event in Newark

Saturday 1/13:

–          Public transportation tour across the state to highlight mass transit access

Sunday 1/14:

–          Visit and wreath-laying at Wildwoods Veterans Memorial Wall to honor New Jersey’s veterans

–          Family Day at Adventure Aquarium in Camden

–          Millennials Concert and Rally in Middlesex

Monday 1/15:

–          Statewide Day of Service in honor of the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr

Tuesday 1/16:

–          Inaugural Prayer Service

–          Swearing-in of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor at the Trenton War Memorial

–          Inaugural Ball at MetLife Stadium
