Governor Murphy Directs U.S. and New Jersey Flags to Fly at Half-Staff in Honor of Former State Police Superintendent Colonel Justin J. Dintino

01/30/2020
Governor Phil Murphy today ordered that the U.S. and New Jersey flags be flown at half-staff at all state buildings and facilities from Friday, January 31, through Sunday, February 2, in recognition of the passing of former State Police Superintendent Colonel Justin J. Dintino. Colonel Dintino’s funeral is scheduled for Saturday, February 1.

“Colonel Dintino dedicated his entire career to protecting New Jerseyans,” said Governor Murphy. “Whether it was during his service with the State Police, where he started as a road trooper and eventually became a transformative Superintendent that fought racial profiling and implemented diversity training, or his time as a Commissioner on the State Commission of Investigation, where he rooted out corruption, Colonel Dintino was looking out for the people of our State. Tammy and I send our condolences to his family and friends.”
