Governor Murphy Directs U.S. and New Jersey Flags to Fly at Half-Staff in Honor of the Victims of the Mass Shooting at the Capital Gazette

TRENTON – Governor Phil Murphy has ordered that the U.S. and New Jersey flags be flown at half-staff at all state buildings and facilities on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. The flags will be lowered in memory of the five victims of the recent mass shooting at the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland.

“New Jersey mourns the loss of the five brave reporters and editors who lost their lives in the senseless mass shooting at the Capital Gazette,” said Governor Murphy. “Freedom of the press is a cornerstone of our democracy – and any attack on members of the media is an attack on us all. Our condolences are with the Capital Gazette and the loved ones of those lost during this difficult time.”
