BERGENFIELD, NJ — Governor Phil Murphy will march in the Bergenfield Memorial Day Parade this Monday. Councilman Arvin Amatorio, liaison to the Veterans Committee in town, will kick off the day’s events with remarks during the annual flag raising ceremony outside of Borough Hall at 11:30am. The parade will begin at 2:00pm outside Bergenfield Pizzeria, 344 S Washington Ave., and the route will go back to Borough Hall. Senator Joe Lagana, Assemblyman Chris Tully and Assemblywoman Lisa Swain and other County Officials will march in the parade.

“I would like to thank the Governor for attending our Memorial Day Parade, and I encourage all residents to join us for our flag raising ceremony and parade. I would like to thank all our parade participants, especially our Police, Fire, EMS and our military veterans for all that you do to keep us safe,” said Councilman Amatorio. “The sacrifices of our armed service members, and their families, are in our hearts not just today, but every single day of the year.”

Amatorio recently spearheaded a Disabled Veterans Tax Exemption for veterans and/or their surviving spouses to obtain municipal property tax relief. He also currently serves as the Bergenfield Council Finance Committee Chairman and serves on the Police and DPW Committees.
