Governor Murphy Receives JFK Award From Woodcliff Lake

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy was greeted by more than 350 Bergen County constituents when he showed up to receive the JFK Award presented by the Woodcliff Lake Municipal Committee and Council members.

“The JFK Award goes to someone who exemplifies all that is good about public service, said Former Mayor Josephine Higgins. This year there wasn’t even a discussion of who it should go to. We all said the Governor’s name at the same.”

The Governor spent most of his time talking pictures and shaking hands with the enthusiastic crowd of “Who’s Who” of Bergen County politics, including Bergen County Chairman Lou Stellato, County Executive Jim Tedesco, the Bergen County Freeholder Board, Senator Sarlo, Congressman Bill Pascrell, Assemblyman Clinton Calabrese, and Mayors and council people from almost every town in the county. Murphy then then delivered an energetic speech on a “fairer and stronger” New Jersey re-emphasizing his commitment to growing the middle class and the state’s economy.

“We are very happy that Woodcliff Lake brought together leaders from all parts of the state to honor the memory of JFK by connecting his life and times to Governor Murphy and his family,” said Warren Feldman, Woodcliff Lake Municipal Chair.

After a final round of pictures and handshakes the Governor was off to his sixth event of the day having travelled the state from right to left and top to bottom, leaving behind him a room of satisfied loyalists and admirers.
