GRASSROOTS GROUPS SET NORTHERN NJ RALLIES TO SUPPORT IMPEACHMENT

PART OF THE MOVE ON NATIONAL ACTION

(GLEN ROCK Dec 17) MoveOn with Indivisible has set over 550 rallies, with more than 130,00 people signed up to attend, across the nation for Tuesday, December 17, the day prior to the historical Vote for the Articles of Impeachment in the House of Representatives.  This action is a critical show of support for Executive oversight and that No One is Above the Law.  Since a mid-week rally in the days leading to the holiday are challenging for many to attend, Indivisible NJ5, Indivisible Englewood, Action Together New Jersey, Women for Progress, Teaneck Women Together, Ridgewood Jolt, and other groups also held a successful ocal rally on Sunday, December 15, in Hackensack. The rallies have been called to demand Congressional representatives uphold their oaths of office to protect and defend the Constitution and based on the evidence presented, Vote Yes.

Tuesday’s rally “Northern NJ Says Impeach” will be held December 17 – 12:30PM at Rep. Josh Gottheimer’s congressional offices at 65 Harristown Rd, Glen Rock, NJ. 400 people have signed up to attend the event.

Speakers will include educators, grassroots leaders, attorneys and individuals.  The House of Representatives has brought forth two Articles of Impeachment for Abuse of Power and Obstruction of Congress. Organizer Susan Steinberg stated “No one is above the law and according to the Constitution and the Department of Justice, the only remedy for a sitting president is impeachment.  We demand our representatives uphold their Oaths of Office and do their job to protect our country from an obstructionist Chief Executive. They must vote yes.”

In NJ, additional events are taking place in Montclair, Newark, South Orange, Summit, Newton, Plainfield, and New Brunswick.  Nationally this Impeach and Remove action is being supported by Indivisible, Need to Impeach, MoveOn, Stand Up America and other partners.
