Greenwald and Lampitt on Statewide Minimum Wage Increase

(TRENTON) – Assembly Majority Leader Louis Greenwald and Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt (both D-Camden, Burlington) attended an event alongside Department of Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner Robert Asaro-Angelo, Congressman Donald Norcross and Camden County Freeholder Jonathan Young on Monday to commemorate New Jersey’s minimum wage increase from $8.85 to $10 hour. The increase went into effect on Monday under a law passed earlier this year to gradually raise the State’s minimum wage to $15 an hour:

Greenwald and Lampitt released the following joint statement on the minimum wage increase:

“Over 200,000 workers across New Jersey are getting a raise today, marking an important first step in our State’s journey towards a $15 minimum wage. In a State with one of the highest tax burdens in the country, every penny counts. By ensuring workers are provided a living wage, we will help more families move toward financial stability and work towards our larger vision of a more affordable New Jersey.”
