Greenwald on School Funding Bill Signed into Law
(Trenton) – Assemblyman Louis Greenwald (D-Camden, Burlington) issued the following statement on the signing of the bill modifying the school funding formula:
“We’ve met with parents, faculty, and principals from districts across the state that have been underfunded and underserved by the previous school funding formula. It was clear that something had to be done to ensure greater fairness and adequacy for all New Jersey schools.
“After eight years of flat-funding, or in most cases, drastically reduced aid to our school districts, we began the process of addressing some of these funding formula concerns last year. These new changes to our funding formula, signed into law today, bring us one step closer to restoring the balance in our school funding formula and to ensuring the next generations of New Jerseyans receive the high-quality education they deserve.”
