Greenwald Statement on Agreement to Raise Minimum Wage for

Over One Million NJ Workers

(TRENTON) – In response to today’s announcement from Governor Phil Murphy, Senate President Steve Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin of an agreement on legislation to raise New Jersey’s minimum wage, Majority Leader Louis Greenwald (D-Camden, Burlington) released the following statement:

“Raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2024 for more than one million New Jerseyans is government at its best,” said Greenwald. “It illustrates our ability to come to the table, work together, debate important policy and reach an agreement that positively impacts the hard working people of our state. This is an important first step to help more people support their families and move toward the middle class. I commend Speaker Coughlin for spearheading the Assembly Democrats’ efforts to get us to this great day.”
