Gusciora’s Cigar Lounge Bill Advances

Assembly Regulatory Oversight Committee to Hold Hearing Today

–

(Trenton) – Assemblyman Reed Gusciora’s (D- Trenton) legislation to permit municipalities to issue licenses for Cigar Lounges (A.1315), will be considered by the Assembly Oversight Committee today (February 8).  The bill will create an exception to the State’s “smoke free” law that previously grandfathered any existing establishment but did not permit new ones to open.  Gusciora introduced the legislation last year in an effort to promote the use of cigar lounges as an economic engine particularly in urban areas of the state.

The Assembly Oversight Reform and Federal Relations Committee is scheduled to meet at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 8 in Committee Room 13- State House Annex.
