HARSIMUS COVE LEADERS ENDORSE JAMES SOLOMON FOR CITY COUNCIL

Civic Leaders Agree That James Solomon is the Right Choice for Downtown

JERSEY CITY, NJ – Adding to the growing momentum around James Solomon’s reelection, a slew of Harsimus Cove leaders came together today to unequivocally say that Solomon is the right choice for downtown. The leaders included Ellen Quin, Jesus Sunny Arcilla, Emmy Tiderington, Sarah Ordway and Christy Sayre. The leaders agreed that Solomon is the independent in the race who will stand up for the community and bring people together to achieve real change for the neighborhood.

James Solomon said: “Downtown Jersey City is a special place to live and raise a family, which is why I am humbled that so many important Harsimus Cove leaders have come together to endorse our vision for a stronger, more resilient, and affordable downtown. This election is about the future and I know working with these leaders we can make a downtown Jersey City that is better for everyone.”

Emmy Tiderington, Former Vice President of Membership, Harsimus Cove Neighborhood Association said:  “I’ve known both candidates for years now and have worked with both of them on a variety of local issues. The clear difference between the two is James’ genuine independence and selflessness. He has always fearlessly stood up for the rights of Harsimus Cove residents. Every time I’ve called James with ideas on affordability in our city he has answered and has been willing to bring stakeholders together to discuss these critical issues. James has already proven himself to be the best representative for Harsimus Cove and Ward E”

Sarah Ordway, President, 2019 Harsimus Cove Neighborhood Association said: “James Solomon has fought for the residents of Harsimus Cove time and time again. During his time on the city council he has been responsive to all issues from quality of life, development concerns, and coming up with innovative solutions to ensure we are moving the neighborhood in the right direction.”

Solomon has been endorsed by Our Revolution NJ, 32BJ SEIU, and small business owners in downtown. He has also put out policy proposals to increase affordability for Jersey City, and a sustainability plan to ensure Jersey City combats climate change.
