Headmaster Fr. Edwin Leahy, O.S.B. ’63 Named Icon Award Winner by NJBIZ
Newark, N.J., July 14, 2020 — Fr. Edwin Leahy, O.S.B. ’63 has been an icon in the St. Benedict’s Prep community since becoming the School’s 23rd Headmaster in 1972. Now, he’s an icon in the State of New Jersey. NJBIZ named St. Benedict’s Headmaster to its 2020 class of Icon Award Winners in July.
The annual award, now in its fourth year, honors New Jersey leaders over the age of 60 who have, and continue to help grow and encourage the business community in the state. Fr. Ed was recognized as a champion of education, specifically, transforming St. Benedict’s into a national model of excellence. Among the many C-Suite executives honored, he is one of two priests recognized this year; Cardinal Joseph Tobin, C.S.s.R., D.D., Archbishop of Newark, is also an Icon award winner.
“We’re thrilled for Fr. Ed,” said Chair of the Board of Trustees Robert J. DiQuollo ’65, Senior Managing Director, Mariner Wealth Advisors. “St. Benedict’s is a light to the nation in large part because of his tireless leadership. He’s a Benedict’s legend and an inspiration to the people of this State.”
NJBIZ will celebrate the 2020 Icon Awards at an online ceremony on August 18.
