Healey camp calls on Kim to speak out against release of convicted cop-killer

Moorestown, May 10, 2022 – Businessman, philanthropist, and Republican candidate for New Jersey’s 3^rd Congressional District Bob Healey today issued the follow statement in response to the New Jersey Supreme Court’s decision to release Sundiata Acoli, a Black Panther convicted for the murder of New Jersey State Trooper Werner Foerster.

“Today’s decision by the NJ Supreme Court to release a convicted cop-killer, after Governor Murphy’s own Parole Board ruled that he should remain behind bars, puts a radical worldview over the law and is a gut punch to all of our law enforcement and their families,” said Healey.

“Given that Andy Kim founded RISE Stronger, who promoted and celebrated the works of another cop killer, Mumia Abu-Jamal, it’s even more important that he speak out.”

“As someone who represents thousands of those families in Congress, Andy Kim’s silence on this decision is a revealing and purposeful choice. One has to ask, is Kim truly so controlled by the radical left that he can’t even condemn the release of a man who shot and killed a police officer?” Healey continued.

“Instead of continuing to pretend to be a moderate, Andy Kim should be honest with the people of the Third District and tell them directly if he stands with law enforcement or the people shooting at them.”
