Herb Conaway Jr., MD Announces Guest for the State of The Union

Washington, D.C.—Today, Congressman Herb Conaway Jr., M.D., announces his guest for this year’s State of the Union. His guest has requested to remain anonymous, but this person has worked with the Department of Defense for over a decade, and last year, he was hired into a position that placed him under a two-year probationary period.

“I wish the ignorance and reckless actions of this administration and Elon Musk were harmless, but sadly, they are not,” said Congressman Conaway. “My guest for this year’s State of the Union is one of those Americans—a dedicated professional who is living in fear that he will be terminated from their position after more than a decade of service with the Department of Defense. I am incredibly proud to have him as my guest this year, giving voice to the hardworking individuals whose livelihoods are being threatened. This person epitomizes the call of public service, and I hope their story serves as a wake-up call to Republicans that their actions have real, severe consequences that affect everyday people. It’s time we stand up for those who have given so much to this country.”

Earlier today, Congressman Conaway called the Department of Defense to request more information about the decision to terminate probationary employees and how they will be terminated in the State of New Jersey. He did not receive a clear answer and will continue to press the department and its leadership for answers.
