Highland Park Stands Up for LGBTQ+ Pride Month

The Borough of Highland Park proudly joins with elected leaders throughout the country, in standing in solidarity with our LGBTQ+ friends, neighbors, and family members, by celebrating June as Pride Month.

We remember what President Biden, in his 2021 proclamation of Pride Month said:

“During LGBTQ+ Pride Month, we recognize the resilience and determination of the many individuals who are fighting to live freely and authentically. In doing so, they are opening hearts and minds, and laying the foundation for a more just and equitable America. This Pride Month, we affirm our obligation to uphold the dignity of all people, and dedicate ourselves to protecting the most vulnerable among us.” See full statement.

In the spirit of Pride Month, the Borough is pleased to support the QuEAR Candy Music & Youth Festival, on Sunday June 11th from 10:30 am – 8:30 pm on 4th Ave and Raritan Ave. We encourage residents to attend the festivities. For more information, please visit the Borough’s website here: https://www.hpboro.com/Home/Components/Calendar/Event/4748/19

The Borough also invites residents to a flag raising for Pride Month, on Monday June 26th. The flag raising will be held by the flagpole in the parking lot of the Highland Park Community Center, 220 South 6th Ave, starting at 6:00 pm. This event is sponsored by the Borough’s Human Relations Commission in conjunction with the Mayor’s Office.
