Hispanic Republicans of North Jersey Donate Back-to-School Supplies

JerseyCity, August 3 – The Hispanic Republicans of North Jersey held a successful community event to donate backpacks and school supplies for Jersey City students. The event was co-sponsored by the Hudson County Young Republicans and the Hudson County Federation of Republican Women. Attendees met at the Factory Restaurant and Lounge to drop off the school supplies and remained to mingle. The event was attended by Republicans from across Hudson County.

The campaign, which was the brainchild of Hispanic Republicans of North Jersey President Herminio Mendoza, has its origin in the community focus of the Republican Party. Mendoza said, “we in the GOP believe in strengthening the community, not only by cleaning up government from the institutional corruption we know all too well in Hudson County, but by building up our communities from the bottom up.”

Mendoza continued, “it’s a great feeling when you are engaged in directly building up the community whether through community service events such as this or in the advocacy we do on behalf of the people.” Nick Codrea, Treasurer of the Hudson County Young Republicans and Parliamentarians of the New Jersey Federation of Young Republicans, said, “Mendoza is 100% on the money, Republicans are the party of community volunteering, whether through church’s or non-profits – it’s why we fight for education reform to end the policy of trapping kids in failing schools, and it’s why we fight against the double standards that the political and economic one percenters have created.”
