HOBOKEN DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE ELECTS LEADERSHIP FOR NEW TERM
On Monday night, the Hoboken Democratic Committee held their reorganization meeting for the new term. Committee members elected new leadership for the upcoming two years, including a mix of new and returning members.
Rachel Hodes was unanimously elected as Chair. Rachel previously served as Recording Secretary. Rachel works at a non-profit focused on training and empowering young philanthropists, holds a BA from Rutgers in Political Science and an Masters in Public Administration from NYU. Rachel lives in Hoboken’s 6th Ward with her husband, Jason Freeman.
“I am grateful to the members of the Democratic Committee for electing me to serve as their Chair,” said Hodes. “At a time when our Democratic values are under constant assault, it is important now, more than ever, to come together and get to work,” she added.

Seth Abrams as 3rd Vice Chair
Marla Decker as Treasurer
Vera Sirota as Corresponding Secretary
Joe Quintero as Recording Secretary
George DeStefano as Sergeant-at-Arms
Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla as Honorary Chair
Assemblywoman Annette Chaparro as Honorary Chair
“I thank Chairman Cohen for his service and I am excited to work with Rachel Hodes as she has been a critical part of the growth we have seen in the Democratic Party in Hoboken,” said Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla. “With the 2020 Presidential Election just around the corner, it is imperative that we have a strong Democratic Party in Hoboken and our new Executive Committee has demonstrated that they are ready to take on that task,” added Bhalla.
