HOBOKEN TO PROVIDE 3,000 COVID-19 TESTING APPOINTMENTS THIS WEEK FOR RESIDENTS AND BUSINESS EMPLOYEES TO HELP MITIGATE POST-HOLIDAY SURGE

Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla, the City of Hoboken, and the City’s medical providers have expanded COVID-19 testing options for Hoboken residents and Hoboken business employees. Over 3,000 testing appointments are currently offered this week through the City’s testing providers, with 12,000 appointments anticipated for the month of January. Mayor Bhalla encourages anyone who gathered indoors with multiple households during the holidays, New Year’s Eve or this weekend to get a COVID-19 test at least 5-7 days after the date of the gathering, to avoid the chance of an inaccurate result. If you have symptoms, you do not need to wait the 5-7 days.

“The best way to prevent further spread of COVID-19 following the holidays and New Year’s is to get tested if you gathered indoors with multiple households, even if you don’t have symptoms,” said Mayor Bhalla. “We have made it as convenient as possible to get tested, with an appointment-based system to minimize wait times and eliminate long lines. I thank our testing providers for partnering with us to increase these options for our residents and business employees as we prepare for the potential of a post-holiday surge in cases.”
