HOTEL AND GAMING TRADES COUNCIL ENDORSES BARAKA SLATE FOR NEWARK MAYOR & COUNCIL
Newark, NJ – After standing in support of Mayor Ras Baraka four years ago and witnessing the progress his Administration has made for working people in Newark, the Hotel and Gaming Trades Council (HTC) has announced its endorsement of Mayor Baraka and his whole Council slate.
“I am proud to call Mayor Baraka a friend, and I couldn’t be happier to be endorsing him and his team today,” said HTC President Richard Maroko. “The Mayor has been a fierce advocate for working people, and this might be the most pro-worker council slate in recent Newark history. The Mayor was there for us when hotel workers needed a hand. I know him and his team are the right people for this moment.”
HTC represents approximately 6,000 members in Northern New Jersey, many of whom live and work in Newark. With this endorsement, HTC will put its potent voter engagement and mobilization operation behind Mayor Baraka’s campaign.
