HPAE Endorses Christine Clarke for State Senate in District 26
Jefferson Twp., NJ: Health Professionals and Allied Employees (HPAE) are the latest major advocacy group to endorse 26th Legislative District State Senate candidate Christine Clarke.
HPAE is New Jersey’s largest health care union, representing more than 13,000 nurses, social workers, therapists, technicians, medical researchers and other health care professionals in hospitals, nursing homes, home care agencies, blood banks and university research facilities in both New Jersey and the Philadelphia area. “Now, more than ever, essential frontline healthcare workers and their patients need people with the vision of Christine Clarke representing them in the New Jersey State Senate. Clarke is on the side of health care workers and patients and will support in Trenton policy initiatives that will provide safe working conditions for health care professionals. HPAE is proud to endorse Senate Legislative District 26 candidate Christine Clarke,” said Debbie White, RN, HPAE President.
“Among the many lessons of the covid-19 pandemic was the revelation of just how important it is to work for safe ratios and safe staffing levels to ensure optimal patient outcomes,” said Clarke. “The urgency of the pandemic cast new light on some of these long-standing concerns. New Jersey is making important strides and we need to keep applying pandemic lessons to policy, to ensure preparedness going forward and to protect patients and healthcare workers in the event of a future crisis.”

The 26th District includes 13 communities in Essex, Morris, and Passaic counties: Butler, Fairfield, Jefferson, Kinnelon, Lincoln Park, Montville, Morris Plains, North Caldwell, Parsippany, Rockaway Township, Verona, West Caldwell, and West Milford.
