Hudson County CLC and Middlesex-Somerset County CLC Campaign Door to Door for Endorsed Primary Candidates
The New Jersey State AFL-CIO applauds the momentum from the Hudson County and the Middlesex-Somerset County CLCs as they continue to go door-to-door to contact union brothers and sisters and their families in support of labor approved candidates ahead of the June 7th primary election.

The Hudson County CLC projected grassroots strength to elect Rob Menendez to Congress in the June 7th primary election, and the Middlesex-Somerset County CLC conducted valuable outreach to voters on behalf of Frank Uhrin in Ward 1, Jim Bullard in Ward 2, Sharon Carmichael in Ward 3, and Michele Lombardi in Ward 4. Many union members committed their time this weekend to ensure our labor movement’s continued strength in New Jersey.

Our affiliates are getting involved in primary elections earlier than in past years because the outcome of these elections is having a greater impact on general elections than ever before. The Hudson County CLC and the Middlesex-Somerset County CLC are responding to this trend by leading the way and supporting their endorsed candidates earlier in the electoral process.

We encourage all union members and their families to register to vote in the upcoming primary election. The deadline to register to vote in the primary is Tuesday, May 17. If you would like to receive a vote by mail ballot, the deadline to request one in the mail is Tuesday, May 31. For more information, visit njunionstrong.com.

Anyone interested in volunteering for labor walks should contact COPE Director John Shea at 609-989-8730 or cope@njaflcio.org.
