Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise Urges Residents to Get Vaccinated on First Day of Eligibility Expansion

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — As New Jersey expands its COVID-19 vaccine availability to all residents over the age of 16, Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise is urging all residents to schedule their vaccination appointment today. In an effort to reach even more residents, the county has launched its “Get Vaccinated Hudson” campaign, which includes social media outreach, a video message from the County Executive and targeted text message communications, to provide residents with the information and resources they need to schedule an appointment.

“Expanding vaccine eligibility is great news in our fight against COVID-19 because it means we will be able to protect even more Hudson County residents by getting them vaccinated at our county-run site or at one of our many municipal partner sites,” said Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise. “We want everyone to know these vaccines are safe, effective and available to them. This is a major milestone and another sign that better days are ahead of us.”

All Hudson County residents over the age of 16 are encouraged to complete the pre-registration process online by visiting hudsoncovidvax.org and book their appointment at the county-run USS Juneau Center. Appointments are currently available for Wednesday, April 21.

About the Hudson County Vaccine Distribution Center: The Hudson County Vaccine Distribution Center is operated by Hudson Regional Health Commission and overseen by County Executive Tom DeGise’s Vaccine Task Force, which includes representatives from the Hudson County Improvement Authority, the Hudson County Office of Emergency Management, County Department of Roads and Public Property, the Hudson County Schools of Technology and the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office.
